Description:

Ancient Seas, Indonesia, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 1.5 million years ago. A monstrous tooth - one of the largest I have ever seen! This is a stunning fossilized tooth from the prehistoric megalodon shark, with a slightly curved profile and the classic V-shape. The lustrous enamel has beautiful lighter colorations and striations of beige and brown. The bourlette, bordering the matte root, is a caramel color and nearly perfect triangle shape that mirrors the pointed tip of this tooth. The enamel is naturally reflective due to the fossilization process and still retains much of the serrated edges from the root to tip. Megalodons were one of the largest predators that the ocean ever saw, perfectly exemplified by this gigantic tooth! Size: 5.6" L x 4.65" W (14.2 cm x 11.8 cm); 5.125" H (13 cm) on included custom stand.
