Pre-Columbian, Honduras or El Salvador, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A hand-built redware cylinder with a flat base, tall walls, a deep interior cavity, and a lightly-flared rim. The exterior boasts a wide register of impressed grooves which form thick linear bands in vertical, horizontal, and spiraled orientations. The body and the rim interior exhibit thick red pigmentation, though the interior cavity and base are unadorned. Size: 4.9" W x 5.9" H (12.4 cm x 15 cm).

Provenance: private California, USA Collection; ex-Bud Leuek estate, professor at Cuyamaca College, California, USA, collected prior to 1990s
