Description:

Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A hand-built and highly-burnished redware pottery mammiform vessel with a flat base, a spherical body with a rounded shoulder, a squat conical nipple protruding from the side, and a deep interior cavity. This vessel perhaps held offerings of milk or other substances for ritual ceremonies. Size: 6.2" W x 4.4" H (15.7 cm x 11.2 cm).
