Pre-Columbian, Mayan territories, probably Guatemala, ca. 550 to 900 CE. Carved from a rich dark gray volcanic stone, an intriguing standing figure wearing a skirt or lower garment, with hands held to sides, feet together, and a front facing visage with traces of incised features that have survived the tests of time. Size: 5.25" H (13.3 cm); 5.75" H (14.6 cm) on included custom stand.
