Description:

Pre-Columbian, El Salvador, Mayan, Copador, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A wonderful polychrome bowl, the exterior walls painted with two large panels containing seated scribes with outstretched arms as if presenting offerings such as treasured books or implements to use in ballcourts of the Copan. Elaborate headdresses and ear spools underscore their elite standing. Between these are striated panels, and on the interior walls are concentric red and black bands along with a wide register of glyphoids. Size: 6.3" in diameter x 2.5" H (16 cm x 6.4 cm)
