Kassite or Uruk, Mesopotamia. Ca. mid 2nd to 1st millennium B.C. Hollow natural buff-cream color pottery male animal, depicted in an upright position, and penis between his legs, perked ears and parted lips with protruding tongue. Approximately ten partial vertical columns of impressed cuneiform text across his shoulders. Overall scattered surface deposits. General surface weathering and some losses, mostly around the base edge. A rare and very interesting example. Size: 14"H. x 4"W.
