Carmela Martinez Alvarez (Mexican, contemporary) "Demonic Last Supper," pottery, ca. late 20th to 21st century CE. A hand built Ocumichu style pottery diablitos (devils) recreating the Biblical last supper. On the table before them is a brown demon - perhaps roasted until well-done. Birds peck at his organs and the seated demons cheerfully look on. The underside is signed "Carmela Martinez Alvarez," and some of her work is part of the Tucson Museum of Art's online collection.
