Description:

North America, Mexico, ca. 20th century CE. A refined silver chain link necklace composed of elongated sculptural links crafted from high-grade silver measuring approximately 95.6% purity. Each polished link is smoothly formed with a tapered profile and open aperture, creating a rhythmic sequence of interlocking elements that produces both flexibility and visual movement along the length of the necklace. The necklace is designed without a clasp, forming a continuous chain that slips over the head. Its elegant interlinked structure closely resembles the well-known "Linked Necklace 1" design produced by Spratling Silver, reflecting the modernist aesthetic that became a hallmark of Mexican silver jewelry in the mid-20th century. Mexican silversmithing achieved international acclaim during the 20th century for its bold yet refined designs, and this necklace exemplifies that tradition through its clean geometry and careful finishing. No maker's mark, silver mark, or hallmark is present. Size: 29" L (73.7 cm); silver quality: 95.6%; weight: 153.7 grams
