Reverse: MI XAHL, crowned facing bust of Michael, wearing loros, holding patriarchal cross on globus in right hand. Sear 1694. D.O. 9. Michael III became a child emperor upon the death of his father, Theophilus. As an adult Although Michael II was very unstable and extremely cruel. Sear 1696, D.O. 11.
