Europe, United Kingdom, ca. 1943 CE. An elegant gilded sterling silver chalice with a wide flaring foot, a long, tapering leg studded by a hexagonal disc below its bowl to make it easier to hold. The bowl is steep-sided, ringed with a Latin inscription, and with no pronounced lip. The underside reads, "Presented to the Reverend Joseph Arthur Henry by his parents, Joseph and Eleanore Henry, by his sister, and brothers, Eleanore Erwin Arthur Robert Raymond and John Henry on the occasion of his ordination, May 23, 1943". It is also stamped "Sterling". Size: 5.75" W x 9" H (14.6 cm x 22.9 cm); 408.2 grams
