Description:

Pre-Columbian, Central America, Panama, Gran Cocle, ca. 600 to 1000 CE. A charming pedestal-footed plate, known as a "frutera," of a miniature size. The flared foot tapers gently to the base of the dish with a rounded rim and a shallow basin. Painted linear and geometric motifs in red and black hues are presented atop a cream-hued ground which brings forth the vivid colors. Size: 3.6" W x 2.5" H (9.1 cm x 6.4 cm).
