**Originally Listed at $200**

Greek Empire, Magna Graecia, Southern Italy, ca. 325 BCE. Miniature pottery wine vessel called a hydria designed specifically as a funerary offering. Twin upturned handles on the sides and additional handle connecting rim to body. Theories abound concerning the use of miniature offerings and include they were intended for children, or were cheaper and used by less wealthy patrons or were used by those who had to travel long distances to the funeral and were much easier to transport.
