Description:

Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Moche, ca. 400 to 700 CE. A wonderful mold-formed blackware vessel in the shape of a sandaled foot. The vessel has a planar base, an ovoid body with five delineated toes, a sandal strap over the top, the heel bound with a long horizontal strap and six small vertical straps, a tapered neckline, and a gradually-widening spout. An interesting example of podiatric pottery! Size: 4.95" L x 2.375" W x 4.1" H (12.6 cm x 6 cm x 10.4 cm).
