Pre-Columbian, North Coast of Peru, Moche, Phase IV to V, ca. 500 to 650 CE. A hand-built pottery stirrup vessel in bichrome presentation bearing fisherman lords catching stingrays with the aid of sea birds. Also depicted are hunters holding atlatls as well as a reed boat. Size: 5" L x 5.1" W x 8.4" H (12.7 cm x 13 cm x 21.3 cm)

  • Condition: Professional repair and restoration to handle and possible areas of spout, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines. Abrasions and fading to original pigment, with light earthen deposits, touch-up painting in scattered areas, and softening to some finer details, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to most raised figures. Previous inventory label beneath base.
