Description:

Pre-Columbian, South America, Colombia, ca. 1250 CE. Beautiful and musical too, this finely made Narino pottery ocarina was modeled in the elegant shape of sea shell and meticulously decorated with a polychrome geometric design, all in vivid hues of chocolate brown, tan and red, via the Narino artisan's signature negative resist technique. Perforations through one end for suspension. A fabulous Pre-Columbian wind musical instrument! Size: 5.625" L x 4.5" W (14.3 cm x 11.4 cm)
