Pre-Columbian, Native American, Alabama/Florida, Early Archaic Period, ca. 9500 to 8500 BP (ca. 7500 BCE). A broad brown-grey stone corner notch point, excurvate, curving in at the tip and rounded at the shoulders. Deep U-shaped notches enter the blade diagonally from the corners, forming strongly barbed shoulders. The blade is lightly serrated. The stem is expanding and slightly convex. The type is a Kirk Corner Notched, found throughout the eastern US. This is a wide example of the form. Size: 1.75" W x 2.7" H (4.4 cm x 6.9 cm)

Found in 1952 in Colbert County, Alabama, this example is listed in Tulley's "Rare Points and Flints".
