Native American, Eastern/Southern United States, Early Archaic Period, ca. 9500 to 8500 BP (7000 BCE). A medium corner notched projectile point knapped from smooth grey chert with pale grey inclusions of the style known as Pine Tree Corner Notched. This point form includes an outward recurvate blade whose edges are lightly serrated and an expanded stem. The base is flat. Points of this style are found in the Tennessee and Ohio river valleys, as well as in the mid-Mississippi River valley. Size: 2.6" L x 1.85" W (6.6 cm x 4.7 cm)
