Native American, Midwest/Southern United States, Woodland culture, ca. 100 BCE to 400 CE. A lovely hand axe that is hand-carved from dark-grey stone with streaks of white and beige. The axe has a shallow groove that fully wraps around the midsection between the tapered body and bulbous handle, and the surfaces have been polished to a smooth luster. Size: 2.1" W x 4.25" H (5.3 cm x 10.8 cm); 5.6" H (14.2 cm) on included custom stand.
