Description:

**Originally Listed At $300**

Native American, United States, Navajo (Dine), ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A sandcast silver belt buckle of scalloped openwork form, centered by a natural turquoise cabochon of sky-blue hue with mottled matrix inclusions. The radiating silver petals, each teardrop-shaped and recessed, create a floral rosette motif that frames the turquoise with balanced symmetry. The reverse is fitted with a functional clasp bar and prong for wear. Buckles of this type were a favored form of personal adornment among Native American silversmiths of the Southwest, blending traditional floral-inspired designs with prized turquoise - valued both for its beauty and protective qualities. Size: 3.5" L x 2.5" W (8.9 cm x 6.4 cm); silver quality: 87% to 90%; weight: 52.8 grams
