Native American, Southwestern United States, probably Navajo or Zuni, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A wearable, hand-built necklace strung with dozens of slender, vermilion-hued coral branches. Each branch is its own unique shape with curves, bends, and pitting in various permutations. A set of nickel-silver fasteners secure each terminal. Size (necklace): 23.625" L (60 cm); (largest coral piece): 1.36" L x 0.08" W (3.5 cm x 0.2 cm)
