Central Asia, possibly Bactrian or related culture, ca. 1st millennium BCE to 500 CE. A striking necklace composed of polished quartz beads in an array of rounded and irregular organic forms, paired with small disc spacers in hues of smoky gray and red-orange - likely carnelian and agate or similar regional materials. Worn as a symbol of protection, status, or ritual significance, these stones were selected not only for their aesthetic clarity but also for their metaphysical associations. Modern strung with a simple clasp for wearing. Size of strand: 26" L (66 cm); central bead: 1" L x 0.5" W (2.5 cm x 1.3 cm)
