Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico, Guerrero Region, Mezcala culture, ca. 600 to 100 BCE. A lovely necklace bedecked with 25 hand-carved greenstone beads in tubular, square, barrel, seed, and ovoid forms. A suspension hole is drilled lengthwise through each bead to enable it to be strung, and a modern brass loop and lobster clasp make this a wearable accessory. Size (necklace): 31.75" L (80.6 cm); (largest bead): 2.9" L x 0.72" W (7.4 cm x 1.8 cm)
