Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom to Third Intermediate Period, ca. 1550 to 712 BCE. A collection of twenty-four blue and black faience Eye of Horus amulets, all of different molded styles, but all complementary. The Eye of Horus - also known as the Wadjet Eye and the Eye of Ra - was a symbol of good health and royal power, personifying the goddess Wadjet, one of the earliest Egyptian deities. This was a common funerary amulet, made to protect the deceased in the afterlife. Enjoy this wearable form of one of the most famous symbols of ancient Egypt! On a modern string with modern gold-colored ceramic seed beads and gold-plated findings. Length of chain: 14.5" L (36.8 cm); size of largest amulet: 0.6" W x 0.55" H (1.5 cm x 1.4 cm)
