Description:

Western Europe / United States, Neo-Classical / Renaissance Revival, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A pair of decorative brass andirons with stylized dolphins / sea serpents and a tiered finial topped by lions holding rings in their mouths (only one ring remains). They stand on scrolling bases with a steel bar extending from the back to hold logs in place. The underside of one iron bracket is stamped "38C." Both have wear from use but are in great condition- perfect to polish and use simply as fireplace decor - or to hold logs as intended! Size: 21" W x 27.5" H (53.3 cm x 69.8 cm)

  • Condition: Missing 3 rings on the lion finials. Left andiron vertical dolphin is slightly loose, threaded bolts need to be tightened. Wear and patina to surfaces. Iron brackets have mineral buildup from fire use. Patina and toning to brass. Good vintage, used condition. Polishing is recommended.
