Ancient Greece, Neolithic Period, ca. 5th millennium BCE. A hand-built terracotta female idol figure that presents nude with perky breasts and arms held atop the abdomen. The forked base traces up to the knob-form head that exhibits a minimalist visage and a high-cropped coiffure. Perhaps an early fertility idol, figures like this have been found across the ancient world in tombs and other places of worship. Size: 0.97" L x 1.24" W x 3.14" H (2.5 cm x 3.1 cm x 8 cm); 3.89" H (9.9 cm) on included custom stand.
