Description:

Olmec regions, ca. 1000 - 600 BCE. Fine black jade celt having a plump rounded body, elegant tapered single edge blade with flared tips and opposing rounded tip butt. Beautiful ancient polished surface. An exceptional example. Size: 7.25”L x 2.25”W (18.4 x 5.7cm).

Provenance: Property of an Indianapolis physician. Purchased from Marianne and Robert Huber, NYC., late 1980’s.
