Description:

North American, New Mexico, Spanish Colonial Period, ca. late 18th to early 19th century CE. A handsome, large wooden chest, featuring a form that resembles a house with a hipped roof, iron hinges and latch. The exterior is painted a beautiful sky blue while the interior is unpainted, and was probably repeatedly lined with cloth or newsprint when it was being used. This trunk could have traveled on the Santa Fe Trail or down any of the other dusty roads across the stunning New Mexican landscape. Size: 21" L x 13" W x 15" H (53.3 cm x 33 cm x 38.1 cm)
