Description:

Latin America, South America, Peru, ca. late 19th to mid-20th century CE. A beautiful pair of nickel silver spurs attached to tooled leather taloneras or heel pads with lovely floral designs. Each petite rowel is held in place with a phytomorphic pin cover and attached to a bulbous shank. The leather folds upwards at the bottom periphery to keep the nickel silver talonera in place, and a nickel silver buckle secures the strap. Size (both about the same): 9.3" L x 4.2" W x 3" H (23.6 cm x 10.7 cm x 7.6 cm)

Provenance: private Denver, Colorado, USA collection, acquired in the 1960's
