Description:

Western Europe, France, Paleolithic era, ca. 1.7 million to 500,000 years ago. A collection of three rare prehistoric human tools from France: a chert (flint) blade associated with the Clactonian industry, a large anvil or hammerstone, and a grinding stone possibly created by Homo sapiens or Neanderthals. A copy of a similar chopping tool is attached to a small piece of cardboard for reference, as shown. This reference was purportedly from the 8th edition of the "Official Overstreet Indian Arrowheads Identification and Price Guide" (2003), in an article by Duncan Caldwell titled "Collecting Old World Prehistoric Artifacts," which included identification of European and Clactonian tools. Size of largest: 3" Diameter x 4" H (7.6 cm x 10.2 cm)
