Pre-Columbian, Central America, Panama, Grand Cocle, ca. 500 to 900 CE. An attractive, wheel-thrown terracotta red-slip pedestal dish with a large footed base, a tapered pedestal neck, a wide and shallow bowl with a rolled rim and a wavy black striped design along the exterior register. The body is highly-burnished, which gives it a smooth and lustrous appearance. Size: 7.125" W x 4.125" H (18.1 cm x 10.5 cm).
