Pre-Columbian, Panama, Conte Period, ca. 600 to 800 CE. The Conte period represents an explosion of artistic creativity in Panamanian ceramics and this piece has all the hallmarks of creativity, including the strong use of the blue color. Size: 6-1/2” in diameter x 10-1/2”H. Provenance: Ex-private Rousseau collection acquired before 1984. All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back. • Condition: The decoration on this jar is in excellent condition with a patina and some fading but almost no wear, especially around the body of the olla, so that the designs are very clear. The interior of the neck has been fractured but repaired, as has the base.
