Description:

North America, Pleistocene Epoch, ca. 1 million to 10,000 years ago. A substantial fossilized tusk fragment, from a mammoth. This impressive relic, once part of the towering proboscideans that roamed Ice Age landscapes, displays a warm earthen tone with a network of surface fissures formed through millennia of mineralization. The tusk retains a natural curvature, its surfaces smoothed by age, while its fractured ends reveal the inner structure of the ivory. Mounted on a custom display stand, the specimen serves as both a striking natural history artifact and a tangible reminder of the megafauna that once dominated the prehistoric world. Size: 23" L x 3.2" W (58.4 cm x 8.1 cm); 9" H (22.9 cm) on included custom stand; along the curve: 26" L (66 cm)
