World War I/ later, French, ca. 1914 to 1919 CE. These French 75 mm shell casings have been turned into works of art! Each discarded shell was painstakingly hand hammered and cut and features a French Lorraine cross in high relief, field behind in hammered decorations, with 7 leaves or feathers along the top. Size: 3-1/4” in diameter x 14”H. Provenance: Ex-private Colorado Springs, CO collection.   • Condition: Intact and excellent with patina on the unpolished parts and some minor scratching around the base. The writing on the bases are still clearly visible.
