Pre-Columbian, Colombia, ca. 200 to 1000 CE. A long and lovely greenstone bead necklace featuring fifteen beads shaped like various animals inspired by the natural Pre-Columbian world in the center - the remainder of the necklace comprised of hand-polished, hand-cut, biconically-drilled beads of cylindrical, round, and lozenge shapes - all separated via disc-shaped spacers. In addition to this attractive design, the beads were cut from greenstones of brilliant hues ranging from light sage to deep forest green, many mottled with white and black inclusions. Quite a special piece of wearable art from the ancients of the Americas. Size: 30" L (76.2 cm); some animal and cylindrical beads measure more than 1" L
