Description:

**Originally Listed At $500**

Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Sinu River Region, ca. 1000 to 1500 CE. A copper cast owl finial in the form of an owl. The bird is depicted standing alert on a socket, with its head turned to the side, a hooked nose, wide, circular eyes, and its wings folded under its body. It is cast to appear perched on a log, which serves a socket for the finial. In ancient South America, owls were often associated with the underworld, presumably because of their nocturnal habits. Comes with custom stand. Size: 1.7" W x 1.6" H (4.3 cm x 4.1 cm); height on stand: 3.7" (9.4 cm)
