Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1400 century CE. A striking necklace comprised of round shell beads in natural beige hues and most impressively, thirteen large hammered silver teardrop shaped drops, each meticulously decorated with abstract bird forms and visages framed by repeated dots, all in repousse. The silver pendants show varying degrees of oxidation and gorgeous green patina. Size: necklace measures 26" L (66 cm); silver pendants measure approximately 2.125" L x 1.33" W (5.4 x 3.4 cm)
