Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan), Kayenta Black-on-White type, ca. 1000 to 1200 CE. A hand-built white-ground pottery ladle with a broad scoop, a thick rim, and a dense handle with a suspension loop near the end. The interior of the scoop is decorated with a dense latticework panel enclosed by a pair of thick black stripes, and the top of the handle is embellished with a set of zigzagging stripes. Size: 7.75" L x 4" W x 2" H (19.7 cm x 10.2 cm x 5.1 cm)

- Condition: Repair to scoop, with chips and adhesive residue along break lines. Abrasions and light fading to pigment, with some scattered pitting, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to black-painted motifs. Previous inventory label beneath base.
