Description:

Western Europe, Germany, Eichstatt, Solnhofen (Altmuhltal) Formation, Jurassic Period, ca. 154 to 144 million years ago. A fossil prawn of the genus Antrimpos preserved on a natural limestone slab from the renowned Solnhofen quarries. The specimen displays a well-defined carapace, segmented abdomen, articulated legs, and elongated antennae extending gracefully across the matrix. The appendages and antennae have been lightly enhanced with subtle pigment to improve visual clarity while remaining faithful to the underlying fossil impressions. The warm beige limestone provides a clean field that highlights the delicate structure of this Jurassic crustacean, a classic example of Solnhofen's exceptional preservation. Size: 11.75" L x 9.5" W (29.8 cm x 24.1 cm); 8.5" H (21.6 cm) on included custom stand.
