Description:

Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Tairona culture, ca. 1000 to 1550 CE. An absolutely adorable crescent-shaped whistle with a miniature jaguar perched atop it. Holes at either end of the crescent can be blown through to create sound, while holes on the center of the crescent form allow regulation of it. The jaguar has a delightful face, with a squared-off mouth full of sharp teeth, long, triangular eyes, perky ears, and paws that wrap around the center of the crescent. His body is decorated with incised circles that mirror the shape of the holes on the body of the crescent. Size: 2.1" W x 2.25" H (5.3 cm x 5.7 cm); 2.9" H (7.4 cm) on included custom stand.
