Description:

Native American, Southwestern United States, Southwestern United States, Mesa Verde region, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan), ca. 1100 to 1300 CE. An unusual and quite rare white-ground pottery vessel resting upon a base comprised of 3 swollen lobes. Dense black-painted linear motifs stretch across the white-ground exterior surfaces with only the ring handle and base being unadorned. Largely, these were made by women who lived in cliff dwellings like those seen at Mesa Verde National Park. The multi-lobed design is exceedingly rare considering most examples exhibit round-bottomed forms. Size: 4.4" L x 4.3" W x 5" H (11.2 cm x 10.9 cm x 12.7 cm)
