Egypt, Middle Kingdom, Dynasty 12 to 13th, ca 1850 to 1700 BCE. Rare kohl vessel in what is called blue marble, but more gray tones than blue. Small footed jar with bulbous midsection and flat rim - once having flat lid. Portion of original contents inside. 1-7/8" H x 1-5/8" D. Provenance: Ex-Ann Attal collection, Austin, TX acquired via descent from great uncle.
