A finely carved wooden slit drum with a handle decorated with four faces and an abstract circular design comprised of geometric shapes on both sides of the body. Drums have traditionally been among the most important instruments as well as art forms of Africa, used for ceremonial rituals, dances, messaging, and storytelling and providing rich visual culture. Size: 11.5" W x 21.625" H (29.2 cm x 54.9 cm)
