Ancient Greece, Magna Graecia, Italy, Calabria, Tarentum, ca. 4th century BCE. A silver AR stater coin. Obverse: Nude rider on horse facing right, holding spear with hi s right hand and holding two spears and a shield in with his left. Reverse: Nude Phalanthos riding dolphin to right, holding helmet with both hands. In its earliest coinage, Tarentum featured a variety of designs on both the obverse and reverse. However, by the early 4th century B.C., it had adopted a consistent and iconic theme: a horseman on the obverse and a boy riding a dolphin on the reverse. An excellent example of one of the most exquisite Tarentine staters, showcasing a magnificent classical style. Size: 0.78" Diameter (2 cm); silver quality: 96.6%; weight: 7.9 grams

For shipments outside of the USA, customs and duties may apply upon entry into said country, and this fee, if any, is the buyer's responsibility.
