Description:

Ancient Greece, Cyprus, Iron Age, Cypro-Archaic Period I, Cypriot culture, ca. 750 to 600 BCE. A petite pottery figure of an idol depicted in minimalist form with a pointed headdress and arms and legs extended. The tail of his robe extends to the back for support, suggesting he is seated and perhaps straddling a horse, while his face presents simplistic features of a protruding nose, recessed eyes, and sizable ears. Size: 0.8" W x 1.5" H (2 cm x 3.8 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full printed and bound report is available to the buyer upon request.
