Description:

Egypt, Romano-Egyptian period, ca. 2nd century CE. A cast bronze tubular vessel for containing kohl, composed of two larger tubes and a third very thin tube - presumably for holding an applicator - all held together by a thick band of bronze wrapped around their upper part. Two small hooks project horizontally from the sides of the vessel so that it could be suspended. Interestingly, both Egyptian men and women wore kohl around their eyes. Size: 1.8" W x 3.7" H (4.6 cm x 9.4 cm); 4.7" H (11.9 cm) on included custom stand.
