Richard Rymill (American, 1942-2017). Untitled alabaster sculpture, 1985. Signed and dated. A gorgeous alabaster bust, finely carved by Richard "Dick" Rymill. The enchanting female wears a voluminous shawl or serape over her voluptuous torso and gazes downward with an attractive visage topped by a curly updo. In addition, the overall design of the piece, presenting a dramatic pose, with the woman's left shoulder significantly higher than her right one and those undulating curves of the silhouette are simply captivating. What's more, Rymill masterfully captured the inherent beauty of the stone with its dramatic veining and gorgeous coloration in shades of peach, rose, and beige as well as the surface's intriguing contrasts between lustrous polished and textured pecked surfaces. Absolutely beautiful! Size: 7.5" L x 9.7" W x 10.2" H (19 cm x 24.6 cm x 25.9 cm); 13.25" H (33.7 cm) on included custom stand.
