Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A gorgeous wearable necklace with 21 spherical and oblate carnelian beads in hues of coral, cerise, and burgundy organized in a pattern with each separated by a pair of cylindrical Roman glass beads (35 total) of black and charcoal with varying spots of cream, yellow, blue, grey, and orange flanked by a grey stone tube bead on either side (36 total). The pattern only breaks at the center of the necklace where there are two spherical carnelian beads on either side of one oblate carnelian bead, all separated by grey stone tube beads, and at the clasp where a blue painted barrel stone bead replaces one of the glass beads and three olive green tube stone beads lead to the end of both sides. A dazzling set of ancient beads, sure to turn heads at any occasion. Size: 23"" L (58.4 cm)
