Description:

**Originally Listed At $500**

Roman, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A dipper cup or pan known as a trulla, made from translucent yellow-green glass resting on a short, flared foot. The handle that once extended horizontally from the rim is gone, but it is easy to envision how this vessel functioned. The word "trulla" can be defined as "ladle" or "dipper." They were widely used in the Roman Empire, serving as ritual objects in religious ceremonies for libations or for drinking or pouring purposes and even in bathing activities. Size: 4.3" Diameter x 2.25" H (10.9 cm x 5.7 cm)
