Roman, early Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A fine hoop earring formed from 82% gold wire (equivalent to 18K+). The ovoid accessory has a thin terminal that fits within a narrow loop, and a thin register of lemniscate filigree decorations adorns one side. Size: 0.9" W x 1.3" H (2.3 cm x 3.3 cm); quality of gold: 82% (equivalent to 18K+); total weight: 3.1 grams.
