Roman, Imperial Period, probably from Roman Britain, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A light grey burnished pottery, wheel made, with a bulbous body and a rolled out, narrow rim. A thin strap handle goes from the rim to the body. This was one of the most common types of Roman pottery, and was made in several places throughout Britain, like at the large Roman pottery manufacturing center of Castor near Peterborough. Size: 4.6" W x 4.55" H (11.7 cm x 11.6 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Private German collection acquired in 1971
